Born in a Helsinki Kitchen
A few years ago, we were sitting in a small lunch restaurant in Kallio, Helsinki. The food was incredible — hand-pulled noodles, homemade broth, fresh herbs from the window sill. But when we checked their Instagram, the last post was from three months ago.
We asked the owner why. She laughed and said: "I wake up at 5am to prep. I cook until 3pm. When exactly am I supposed to become a social media manager?"
That conversation stuck with us. We're software developers — we've been building web and mobile applications for over 20 years. We realized we could build something that would give that chef her time back while making her restaurant visible to the thousands of people scrolling through their phones looking for somewhere to eat.
That's how ChefPost was born. Not in a boardroom, but from a real conversation with a real chef.
